CURRENT POSITIONS
CONTROLS INTERN
Summer 2025
Controls Interns will work hand in hand with various other team members to educate themselves on various aspects of the industrial automation and control industry by performing hands-on tasks both independently and as part of a team.

This will include hands-on, online, and written training. During your time in this position your daily experiences may include (but are not limited to):
• Setting up new instrumentation and calibration to specifications using schematics and drawings.
• Performing basic preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repairs on various instrumentation products using a variety of tools and testing equipment.
• Termination of IO Cables at instrumentation and PLC Enclosure and perform IO loops checks from instrumentation to PLC.
• Learning terminology, basic configuration, and troubleshooting of network devices such as Cell Modems, Routers, switches, and other communication devices.
• Termination and testing of Serial and Ethernet communications cables, serial RJ-232 and RJ-485 wiring, and coaxial cable for radios (Cellular and ISM)
• Learning terminology, basic configuration, and troubleshooting of automation controller devices such as PLC’s, Soft-PLC’s, and other devices.
• Working with industrial Control Panels – Reading drawings, layout, wiring and testing.
• Termination of IO Cables at instrumentation and PLC Enclosure and perform IO loops checks from instrumentation to PLC.
• Learning terminology, basic configuration, and troubleshooting of HMI/SCADA Software solutions.
• Utilizing computerized equipment and software to perform various testing functions and produce reports.
• Travel to customer sites to provide services as required.
